His estate records indicate that he & Priscilla Knighton had only 2 children:
1. Derrill Upright Hollis (b.1802;d.1870) buried Lamar County, Alabama. He was a state representative for Marion County, AL. He is said to have had 2 wives: Mary Elizabeth Goodwin and Margaret Rebecca Bankhead.
2. Eliza Mariah Hollis (b. 1805; d. 1882) buried Franklin County, Mississippi. Married George Washington Adams in 1822, Fairfield District, SC.
However, the obituary for Eliza Mariah Hollis Adams indicates that Berry had 2 additional children (all named in the obit) - were these his children with Margaret R. Bankhead?:
3. Mary Hollis married a Stodder and lived in Mobile, AL.
4. Martha Hollis married a Hodges and lived in Booneville (MS?)
Based on the information that is available today, I have ruled out Berry/Berryman as the father of my ancestor Rufus Hollis.
