According to Ancestry.com, my mtDNA results indicate my paternal ancestry is 16% England, Wales and Northern Europe, 26% Scotland, 3% Ireland and 5% Sweden, Norway and Finland. This is not an exact science because Ancestry.com is constantly updating this as more and more people are added to their database.
I have opted to NOT put my family tree online due to privacy concerns. If you contact me personally, I will let you know my relationship to any of these families/individuals. I can also provide individualized family tree charts to close cousins - again please contact me.

Early Georgia Settlers Maps Where my paternal ancestors originally settled in Georgia 1790 Map All families listed arrived before 1790. 1800 Map Horton family was likely in Georgia before 1790; Clements family arrived in the late 1790s; Dorris and Merck families likely did not arrive in Georgia until mid to late 1820's. 1830 Map Robert Lemon arrived in DeKalb County in the early to mid 1820s. His daughter and his son-in-law (James Davis) arrived in the mid 1840s. 1870 Map John William Hollis arrived from Louisiana in the mid 1870s shortly after Douglas County was formed. My Hollis ancestors were likely in Carroll and Campbell County much earlier than 1870 however (possibly 1820s or 1830s). They arrived from South Carolina. I am still working on a few missing links in my Hollis ancestry. |
