My maternal Blair ancestors appear to be from two separate Blair lines: One line is via the Quaker Colbert Blair (married Sarah Morgan) of Bucks County, PA and the other line I have only been able to trace to William Blair (married Catherine Harrison) of Pendleton District, SC who was a soldier in the War of 1812. Colbert Blair and William Blair do NOT appear to be closely related despite the descendants of both settling in Pendleton District, SC and Franklin County, GA.
The marriage of Harrison Franklin Blair and Sarah E. Verner (my great grandparents) are where the two Blair lines merge in my DNA. Sarah E. Verner's G-Grandmother was Mary Blair (wife of Captain Moses Guest). Mary Blair was the sister of Colonel James Blair, the Rev. War soldier and son of Colbert Blair and Sarah Morgan.

COLBERT BLAIR the Quaker of Pennsylvania (5th great grandfather) married Sarah Morgan. Sarah Morgan is the 1st cousin of Daniel Boone. [1]

- Daughter: Mary Blair - married Captain Moses Guest (page in progress)
Mary Blair and Captain Moses Guest are my 4th great grandparents thus making Colonel James Blair my 4th great granduncle and Daniel Boone my 1st cousin (7X removed).
Moses Guest and Mary Blair had son Sanford Guest who married Elizabeth Addison. Sanford and Elizabeth had daughter Annie Guest who married George Edwin Verner. George and Annie had daughter Sarah Elizabeth Verner. Sarah Verner married Harrison Blair (my GG-Grandparents).
Thus, Mary Blair's great granddaughter married a Blair from what appears to be a completely different Blair line despite both Blair families living within a few miles of one another in NE Georgia. This would not be uncommon for people who have more common surnames (Williams, Smith, Jones for example) but fairly unique to the less common Blair name.
