1st Sergeant , GA Volunteer Militia, Jackson County, GA under Captain Joseph Whorton.  
Stationed at historic Fort Daniel at Hog Mountain in what is now Gwinnett County. His home was noted as the SW boundary marking the corner of present day Hall and Gwinnett counties1 - just below the present day Chateau Elan development along Spout Springs Road and Duncan Creek near Interstate 85. His father James provided supplies to Fort Daniel.  James owned land along the Apalachee River as well as land along the Mulberry River.

Served as a Private in Nash's Regiment; a unit that suffered great hardships in the Creek campaign.
James was among the pioneer group of settlers of DeKalb County, Georgia where he became a Judge.
