(July 28, 2021 - This page and my Horton family research is a work in progress - please check back as I will likely be adding content to these pages and possibly adding more pages.)
To date, I have only researched
my 5th great grandfather (Prosser Horton)[1],
his wife and his descendants. Prosser appears to have been born in Orange
County, NC where he is shown as a Revolutionary War soldier for Hillsborough
District (present day Chapel Hill/Durham) along with his brothers. They
likely lived on or near Mountain Creek. Shortly
after the Revolutionary War, he moved to Georgia ultimately settling near the
Walnut River in northwestern Jackson County.
Several of his brothers also moved to Georgia as well as his mother or stepmother.
