There are few facts about my Clements ancestors prior to their arrival in Pendleton District, SC but most likely they were in eastern North Carolina. They can be found in Pendleton by 1790.
I have done little to no research on the Clements family prior to their arrival in Pendleton so any research data available is from other individuals. This page is reserved for any future research that I may add.
The links below will provide you with some understanding of where the Clements family "appears" to have been before they arrived in Pendleton.

Some Clements Notations - I will add these as I come across interesting Clements associations
In the book, "A standard history of Georgia and Georgians", a J. Clements of Hancock County, Georgia is noted to have been a commissioner acting with others to negotiate an agreement with the Creek Indians in 1786. This Clements man may be totally unrelated to our Clements line; However, it is interesting that he was in Hancock County about the same time as Prosser Horton whose daughter Winifred married William Clements, son of James Clements.
