The Mansell farm house was originally located on Mansell Road and Foe Killer Creek (likely near where Old Roswell Road intersected with Mansell - Now the Westside Parkway and Mansell intersection).   There has been much construction in recent years with not only new commercial properties being built on Mansell but also with the extension of Mansell Road all the way to Highway 400.  The Mansell farm property was owned by the Herman Miller company in 1987 and the house was donated by the company to the Alpharetta Historical Society and relocated with the help of the city to its present location in Wills Park.

Old Log Cabin Restoration Project in Alpharetta

John Marvin Dorris (1918-2018), the 3rd great grandson of James and Nancy Dorris was one of the men that built a replica log cabin which stood on the grounds of the old Milton High School on Milton Street in downtown Alpharetta.  The old high school was torn down recently and and new high school has been built in the same spot.  The log cabin was saved and relocated across the street.  There is currently a fund raising project to continue the cabin's restoration.
