The author found records for several Thomas Combses in Wilkes County, Georgia in the early to mid 1800s. The records are difficult to sort into a definitive ancestry trail so they are presented below in no particular pattern or conclusion.
Thomas Eudaly/Eudaily - died about 1831. Thomas R. Combs was initially the administrator of his estate but he apparently died and James Dorrough was appointed the administrator. Daniel Woolbright was an appriasor. William Eudaly (a minor) appears to be an heir. A Margaret Combs was a payee from the estate. The author found very little information about the Eudaly family; However, there was a Eudaly family living in Charlotte County, Virginia which is very close to Amelia County. Amelia County is where the Combs family likely was living before moving to SC (and then on to GA).
Thomas E. Combs - died about 1831. James Dorrough was the administrator of his estate. Some of the names listed in the estate documents are: Margaret Combs (numerous mentions), Anderson Bates, John Strozier, Philip Combs, Daniel Woolbright, Rowland Jackson, and Peter Lunceford. It is likely that several of these people are neighbors but Margaret is probably his widow and her maiden name was probably Eudaly. Thomas Eudaly was either her father or brother.
