This Jeremiah Reeves is likely Rev. Jeremiah Reeves, Sr. He and his son were both Baptist Ministers affiliated with Sardis Baptist Church in Rayle, GA. The Callaway family descends from members of this Reeves family. The founder of Callaway Golf (Ely Reeves Callaway) may be a direct descendant of Jeremiah Reeves, Sr. Jeremiah Reeves was likely a close neighbor of Daniel Jackson's family - they both lived in the Dry Fork/Long Creek area just north of Rayle. Another record in Daniel's estate file has a "Polly Reeves" as a witness - the author has not identified Polly, she may have been the wife of Rev. Jeremiah Reeves, Sr. or his daughter.
