Mayson Family

My Mayson family research begins with Colonel James Mayson of Ninety Six District in South Carolina.  His birth date and place are not known but it is likely that he was born about 1725-1735 in either Scotland, Ireland or England.  He appears to have arrived in SC about 1763.  He died in 1799 and he is buried on the grounds of the Ninety Six Historic Site near present day Ninety Six South Carolina.
